What is the intent of this overview?

Why are there ethics requirements?
The use of animals for research or teaching at U of T is subject to ethical and legal requirements under the Animals for Research Act and the Canadian Council on Animal Care. These regulations ensure proper care and welfare of all animals used in research or teaching.
What do I need before I can begin?
An approved U of T Animal Use Protocol (AUP) and completion of all relevant training.
