Getting Started on My Research (MR)

Who is this for?

My Research was developed for faculty members, academic administrators, staff, students, and University of Toronto (U of T) community members who participate in administrative activities related to research funding applications, requests for non-funded research agreements and submission of animal or human research ethics protocols.

What do I need before I can begin?

In order to access the My Research (MR) system, you require all of the following items.

  • A role within at least one of the MR modules
  • An active UTORid
  • One of the four supported web browsers on your desktop or laptop computer: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari (note that MS Edge is not yet supported)

Overview

My Research (MR) is a system within the Administrative Web Services portal developed to support research administration specific to funded and non-funded research agreements as well as to human and animal research ethics protocols.  MR modules are detailed below.

Login to My Research

Please visit the My Research (MR) page to login.

My Research Applications & Agreements (MRA)

MRA contains applications for research funding as well as requests for non-funded agreements (e.g. Data Transfer Agreement, Non-Disclosure Agreement).

Use this module when you want to do any of the following.

  • Apply for research funding (includes attaching a copy of your research proposal for the grant or contract)
  • Support a Principal Investigator (PI) who is applying for research funding
  • Provide unit head review/approval for research funding requests within your unit
  • Provide support to your unit head on research funding applications
  • Submit a request for a non-funded research agreement
  • Assist a PI in the submission of a request for a non-funded research agreement
  • Review and execute requests for non-funded agreements

My Research On Line (MROL)

MROL provides PIs, business officers (BOs), and project managers (PMs) with access to research funding information and expense details.

Use this module when you want to do any of the following.

  • View the financial activity within your or your PI’s research accounts
  • Use the on-line review button to indicate that you have completed your review of the financial activity during a particular period of time within your research fund (PIs only)
  • Run a report of your or your PI’s funding received by year

My Research Funds (MRF)

MRF provides PIs, BOs, and PMs with access to the University of Toronto Research Account (UTRAC) for an awarded research funding application. This document contains key elements from the sponsor’s funding agreement, such as the funding period, award amounts and release dates, and terms and conditions.

My Research Animal Protocol (MRAP)

MRAP enables the on-line development, submission, review, and approval of animal research ethics protocols.

Use this module when you want to do any of the following.

  • Submit an animal use protocol as a faculty PI
  • Assist a PI in the submission of a protocol
  • Manage the review of a protocol
  • Review or approve a protocol as an Animal Care Committee member
  • Create/view meeting agendas and minutes
  • Maintain/view the training history of animal handlers
  • Maintain animal counts within a protocol (for animals not in the Division of Comparative Medicine)

My Research Human Protocol (MRHP)

MRHP enables the on-line development, submission, review, and approval of human research ethics protocols.

Use this module when you want to do any of the following.

  • Submit a human research ethics protocol as a faculty or student PI
  • Assist a faculty PI in the submission of a protocol
  • Manage the review of a protocol
  • Review or approve a protocol as supervisor, unit head, or Research Ethics Board member
  • Create/view meeting agendas and minutes
