Color themes are popular for sharing color combinations across many visual domains. The two inventions captured in this technology allow for the representation, learning, and interactive editing of color palettes through a novel interface for creating color themes.
COLOR BUILDER
Through direct manipulation of color with touch or mouse inputs, users can seamlessly create and rearrange swatches and combine them into smooth and step-based gradients and three-color blends.
To keep interaction seamless, we have also designed an in situ color tweaking interface for easy navigation of an entire color neighborhood.
COLOR TRIADS
Image and region recoloring by manipulating a nonlinear three-color blend fit to best approximate the input image. This work allows experimenting with nonlinear blending behavior for recoloring of several images.
